Apply for Housing

Applying for housing at Walsh University is easy! Follow the 3 steps listed below to complete your housing intake materials. If you should have any questions regarding the application process, please contact Ben Daleiden, Coordinator of University Housing Placements, at (330) 490-7107.

Step 1 - Housing Deposit

The $200.00 Housing Deposit serves as a contractual guarantee and as a damage deposit. A full refund of the deposit is made to students who enter the residence halls, fulfill the academic year contract, and elect not to return to Walsh for the next academic year (provided no balance remains on their bill). A full refund of the deposit is also made to students who cancel their room reservation by contacting the Office of Residence Life, in writing, prior to July 1st (preceding the fall semester), or prior to December 1st (preceding the spring semester) for those leaving the institution. Please read the Housing Contract for all the details concerning the Housing Deposit Refund Policy.

Step 2 - Housing Application

The Housing Application allows you to select residence hall, meal plan and roommate preferences. Walsh University Residence Life makes every reasonable effort to accommodate your requests, however we cannot guarantee housing assignment or roommate requests. If you do not have a specific roommate in mind, we will use the information you provide in the Housing Preferences section of the application to match you with a roommate with similar preferences.

Discrimination based on race, color, creed, religion or national origin is contrary to the philosophy and polices of Walsh University and violates civil rights laws. Information of this nature is not taken into account when making roommate assignments.

Complete the Online Housing Application by clicking on the link below. When you are finished, return to this page to complete Step 3 of the process and download your housing contract and medical history form.

Step 3 - Housing Contract and Medical History Form

The Housing Contract may be the first legal agreement a student has ever signed. It is vital that students and parents carefully read the contract before signing it. The University Housing Contract must be signed and submitted before arrival to the hall. The contract is for room and board and is binding for the entire academic year.

The Medical History Form is required primarily to determine what adjustments, if any, must be made in schedules of activities to meet the individual needs of students. Please note that use of this form makes it unnecessary for you to submit a physician's physical examination record. It important, therefore that you complete this questionnaire fully and accurately.

Download the Housing Contract (PDF) and Medical History Form (PDF) to your computer. Complete both forms and return to Walsh University:

*Please seal your Medical History and Mental Health History form in a separate envelope. Please print your first and last name on the envelope and write "Medical/Mental Health History." This will ensure the information is confidentially sent to Counseling Services at Walsh University.

Hall assignments for Fall semester are processed during the summer, and notices are mailed one month prior to the start of the new academic year. Included in the notice is the name, address, and phone number of the assigned roommate (unless students indicate on the Housing Application that they do not want the University to disclose their personal information). The Residence Hall Contract must be signed and submitted before arrival to the hall.
