Applying for a Stafford Loan

When first-time loan borrowers are offered a Stafford Loan on their award letter, there are a few extra steps involved before loan funds can be disbursed:

First-time borrowers are required to participate in an on-line Loan Entrance Counseling Session.  This can be done at any time by clicking here.

Once a loan has been certified for a student, they will be instructed at that time to complete a Master Promissory note to finalize the loan.  This process is also done electronically on our website, but is to be done only when he/she is instructed it is time to do so.

Students interested in applying for a loan must submit the Stafford Loan Request Form. The Stafford Loan cannot be processed until the student has gone through the entire financial aid award process.  As a result, a Loan Request Form is not to be submitted until the student's Award Notification Letter has been issued.
