Intramural Awards

Teams are encouraged to use the same team name and compete in various sports leagues and Intramural events throughout the year to earn points for the Dean's Cup. (See Dean's Cup Information Below). In order to use the same team name for various sports, at least 5 people have to stay consistent on the roster for each sport from the original roster.

Team Sports Leagues:
All members of tournament championship teams will receive a Walsh University Intramural Champion T-Shirt.  Various other awards and prizes may be awarded throughout the year, however each champion is guaranteed a shirt.

Special Events & Tournaments:
Special events and tournament champions will also receive champions t-shirts in addition to other prizes ranging from gift cards to monetary rewards.  Cornhole tournament champions will also receive their very own single cornhole set that will be decorated with Walsh colors and logos.

Dean's Cup Award:
Points are awarded to teams for finishing in the top seeds during the regular season and tournament play. For finishing the regular season in first place, 40 points are awarded. For winning the tournament of the sport league, 50 points are awarded and for coming in second place in the tournament, 30 points are awarded.  5 points will also be awarded to teams for every week they are ranked number one in the league poll as voted on by intramural committee with 4 points being awarded to teams ranked number two and so on and so forth throughout the top 5.  At the end of the year, all these points will be added up and the team with the most points will be awarded The Dean's Cup Award. The winning team will receive their name on a trophy that will be on display at the school and they will be granted a team dinner as well to celebrate their accomplishment.

Teams will also have 5 Dean's Cup points deducted from their season total for every unsportsmanlike penalty or ejection that their team receives throughout the year.  In addition to having Dean's Cup points taken away, players will also face disciplinary action by the Intramural Coordinator and Walsh University.
