"Wido Commits to Cavaliers"

Stephen Wido has committed to continue his athletic and academic career at Walsh University in the fall of 2008. Wido is an outfielder from Padua Fanciscan High School. Stephen is a four year letter winner and earned All-Conference and All-Parma Sun in 2007. He was also part of the Padua team that made it to the State Final Four in 2005.

"Cavs Fall 12-8 at Notre Dame, Miss Playoffs"

(South Euclid, OH) Walsh (22-20, 15-11 AMC) fell 12-8 at Notre Dame College (22-24, 11-15 AMC) in their final regular season game today.  The loss, coupled with Urbana University's sweep of Ohio Dominican University, leaves the Cavs fifth in the American Mideast Conference and out of the playoffs.

Walsh committed four errors, which led to four unearned runs in the defeat.  Notre Dame scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and led 4-3, when Walsh tied the game with a run in the top of the sixth inning.  Notre Dame would break the tie with five runs in the seventh and then added three runs in the eighth.  Walsh tallied four runs in the ninth.  Steve Weirch (So., Minerva, OH/HS), one of four Walsh pitchers, was charged with the loss.  Third baseman Mike Weibley (So., Mentor, OH/Lake Catholic) drove in five runs with three hits, including a double.  Mark Kelly (So., Norton, OH/HS) also had two hits and two RBI.

"Cavs Win Slugfest at Notre Dame/2nd Game Postponed"

(South Euclid, OH) Despite almost four hours in rain delays, Walsh (22-19, 15-10 AMC) outlasted Notre Dame College (21-23, 10-15) 12-9 in the first game of a scheduled American Mideast Conference double header tonight.  Game two was postponed and will be played on Sunday at 4 pm. 

Walsh led 7-4 in the sixth inning, when they exploded with five runs to lead 12-4.   Notre Dame rallied with five runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Walsh's Steve Weirich (So., Minerva, OH/HS) stalled the rally to record the save.  Mike Schaeffer (Fr., Waynesburg, OH/Sandy Valley) picked-up the win in relief of starter Alan Frame.  Schaeffer worked 3.1 innings.  Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington) hit a solo homer in the first inning and Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) hit a two-run homer in the third inning.  Mike Suliks (So., Norton, OH/HS)  had three hits and two RBI and Matt Marshall (Sr., New Boston, OH/Glenwood) drove in two runs with two hits and Jason Pettigrew (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) had three hits.

"Cavs Split AMC Twinbill with Notre Dame"

Walsh (21-19, 14-10 AMC) split an American Mideast Conference twinbill with Notre Dame College (21-22, 10-14 AMC) today.  Walsh captured game one 3-1, but fell 2-1 in the nightcap.  The two teams meet at Notre Dame at 3 pm for another AMC twinbill tomorrow.

Chris Norris (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) went the distance to win the opener.  Norris alllowed only four hits in improving to 7-2 on the season.  Walsh scored two runs in the second and added a single run in the fifth.  Notre Dame scored single runs in the first and fifth innings.  Walsh scored its only run in the fourth and had the trying run on third base in the bottom of the seventh, but failed to score.   Mike Dougherty (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) was the tough luck loser for the Cavs, falling to 3-5.  Dougherty fanned four.

"Cavs Drop Pair at Seton Hill/Walter Homers in Both Games"

(Greensburg, PA) Seton Hill University (24-23) took both ends of a non-conference double header from the Cavs (20-18) today, by the scores of 7-3 and 6-5.  The Cavs are back in action on Thursday, when they host Notre Dame College in an AMC double header at 1 pm.

Seton Hill scored three runs in the first and the fourth in their game one win.  Eric Shimko (Fr., Canton, OH/Mckinley) started on the hill for the Cavs and was charged with loss and is now 1-3. He was tagged for seven hits and three runs in 2.2 innings.  Duston Walter (So., Malvern, OH/HS) hit a two-run home run, his third of the season, for the Cavs in the sixth inning.  In the nightcap, the Cavs fell behind 4-0 after three innings, before rallying with two runs in the fourth and the fifth, before falling 6-5.  Steve Weirch (So., Minerva, OH/HS) took the loss to fall to 3-3 on the season.  Walter hit his third home run of the season, and drove in three of the Cavs five runs.  Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) had two hits and drove in the Cavs other two runs.

"Cavs (20-16, 13-9 AMC) Down Urbana, Remain 5th in AMC/Face Big Week"

Walsh (20-16, 13-9 AMC) remained fifth in the American Mideast Conference after winning its only game last week, a single game with Urbana University.  The Cavs are scheduled to play eight games this week.  On Monday, they play a non-conference twin bill at Seton Hill University (PA) and on Wednesday play two non-conference games at Siena Heights University (MI).  The big games are slated for Thursday (H) and Friday (A), when they tangle with Notre Dame College in a pair of AMC double headers.  Walsh is one game behind fourth place Mount Vernon Nazarene for the final playoff spot.

Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington) homered and drove in four runs in Walsh's 10-5 AMC win over Urbana University (23-15, 13-7 AMC) on Saturday.  For Indorf, it was his sixth home run of the season and raises his RBI total to a team leading 43.  Chris Norris (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) started and picked-up his sixth win of the season (6-2).  Norris fanned five and scattered five hits in six innings.  Mike Dougherty (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) worked three scoreless innings in relief.  Mark Kelly (So., Norton, OH/HS) had three hits and an RBI and Mike Suliks (So., Norton, OH/HS) had two doubles and an RBI.

Tim Hromada (So., North Royalton, OH/Padua Franciscan), who shares catching duties with Duston Walter (So., Malvern, OH/HS), is hitting .400 in 22 games.  Walter is hitting .333 in 24 games. Designated hitter Ryan Indorf has a team-leading 43 RBI and is hitting .383.  Indorf also leads the team with six homeruns and has 12 doubles. First baseman Jason Pettigrew is hitting .368 and is second with 34 RBI.  Second baseman Mike Suliks is hitting .358 and leads the team with 14 doubles.  Left fielder Mark Kelly is hitting .352 and leads the team with 13 multi-hit games.  Eight of Walsh's nine regulars are hitting over .300, as the Cavs sport a team batting average of .329.  Right-hander Chris Norris is 6-2 with a 4.25 ERA and Steve Weirich is 3-2 with a team-leading 2.60 ERA.

"Indorf Homer Powers Cavs to 10-5 Win"

Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington) homered and drove in four runs in Walsh's (20-16, 13-9 AMC) 10-5 American Mideast Conference win over Urbana University (23-15, 13-7 AMC) today.  For Indorf, it was his sixth home run of the season and raises his RBI total to a team leading 43.

"Green Commits to Walsh"

Danny Green has committed to continue his athletic and academic career at Walsh University in the fall of 2008. Green is a 5-11 catcher/outfielder from Holy Name High School. He earned four letters while at Holy Name and was named co-captain in 2008.

Danny is the son of Robert Green and Kathy Daniels.

"Cougars Again Take Two from Cavs"

For the second time in three days, Mount Vernon Nazarene University (23-13, 12-6 AMC) swept an American Mideast Conference double header from the Cavs (19-16, 12-9 AMC).  The Cougars held on to win game one 9-7, then took the nightcap 6-1.  Walsh is at Baldwin-Wallace College for a single game on Sunday.

Walsh rallied from a 9-1 deficit, only to fall short in the opener.  Eric Shimko (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) was the starter and loser for the Cavs. Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) hit a three-run homer for the Cavs and Duston Walter (So., Malvern, OH/HS) slugged a homer and drove in two runs.  Mark Kelly (So., Norton, OH/HS) had three hits and Mike Suliks (So., Norton, OH/HS) doubled and singled.  Alan Frame (Sr., Atwater, OH/Waterloo) started and took the loss in game two.

"Cavaliers Receive Commitment for 2008"

Head Coach, Tim Mead, has announced the commitment of Chris Mason. Mason is a two time letter winner for Eastlake North High School. The 6-4 pitcher/first baseman helped his team to District Runner-Up in 2007 and had a 1.98 ERA in 40 innings.

Chris also earned two letters in basketball and is a member of the National Honors Society, Student Council President, Principal's List, and Honor Roll. Mason is the son of Bill and Char Mason and plans to major in Pharmacy while attending Walsh University.

"MVNU Stops Cavs Win Streak"

(Mount Vernon, OH)  Mount Vernon Nazarene University (21-13, 10-6 AMC) snapped Walsh's (19-14, 12-7 AMC) five-game win streak with a double header sweep today.  The Cougars took the opener 6-4 and then the nightcap 12-2.  The two teams meet at Walsh on Saturday for two AMC games, with the first pitch slated for 1 pm.

Chris Norris (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) was the starter and loser in game one, falling to 5-2.  Walsh trailed 4-0, before rallying with three runs in the top of the fifth inning, keyed by a two-run single by Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington).  The Cougars would score two in the bottom of the inning to extend the lead to 6-3.  Walsh added a single run in the sixth to close the scoring.   Mount Vernon settled the issue in game two with nine runs in the bottom of the third inning, on their way to a 12-2 win.  The Cougars sent 15 men to the plate in the nine-run third.  Mike Dougherty (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) (2-3) started, and lasted into the third inning, and was charged with the loss.

"Cavs Win 5th Straight"

Walsh (19-12) banged out 19 hits in a 15-4 non-conference win over Geneva College today.  It was the fifth straight win for the Cavs.   Walsh resumes American Mideast Conference play at Mount Vernon Nazarene with a double header on Thursday (1 pm).

Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington) homered, doubled, singled and drove in four runs in the win.  Jason Pettigrew (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) had two doubles and a single and drove in two runs and Mike Suliks (So., Norton, OH/HS) had a double and two singles and three RBI.  Mike Muenster (Fr., Gates Mills, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) picked-up the win to even his record at 2-2.

"Cavs Take Two From Shawnee State, Third in AMC South"

Walsh (18-12, 12-5 AMC N) took both ends of an American Mideast Conference double header from Shawnee State today.  The Cavs, in third place in the AMC North, took game one 9-3, and then rallied to win the nightcap 7-6.

Jason Pettigrew (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) drove in seven runs in the opener with two homeruns.  He hit a three-run homer in the first and a two-run shot in the second.  He was 4-4 for the day.  Chad Campbell (Sr., Ashtabula, OH/Lakeside) was 3-4 with two runs scored and Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington) was 2-4 with an RBI.  Eric Shimko (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) started and worked 4.2 innings to earn his first collegiate win.  Steve Weirich (So., Minerva, OH/HS) worked the final 2.1 innings. 

Walsh rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to complete the sweep.  With two outs and nobody on base in their final at bat, Walsh received three straight walks to load the bases.  Pinch runner Mike Davis (Fr., Bridgeport, WV/HS) then scored on a wild pitch to tie the game, and Jacob Knight (Fr., Akron, OH/Springfield) scored on a Matt Marshall (Sr., New Boston, OH/Glenwood) single to center with the winning run.  Jared Roberts (Fr., Berea, OH/St. Ignatius) was the winning pitcher in relief, working the final 1.1 innings.

The Cavs are home to Geneva College on Tuesday for a single game.

"Cavs Beat Rain and Sweep Rio Grande"

Walsh (16-12, 10-5 AMC) beat the raindrops and the University of Rio Grande (13-20, 1-11 AMC) twice, in an American Mideast Conference double header at home today.  The Cavs won the opener 5-0 and the nightcap 10-4.  Walsh is back in action tomorrow, when they host Shawnee State in an AMC twin bill at  1 pm.

Chris Norris (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) pitched a three-hit,complete game shutout  in the opener to improve to 5-1.  He fanned nine.  Chad Campbell (Sr., Ashtabula, OH/Lakeside) had two hits and an RBI and Jason Pettigrew (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) had two singles and two RBI.  Mike Dougherty (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) fanned eight in game two and improved to 3-3 with a complete game win.  Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) drove in five runs and hit a grand slam in the sixth inning.  It was the second homer of year for Nicholas, who also singled and doubled.  Tim Hromada (So., North Royalton, OH/Padua Franciscan) doubled and drove in a run, and Pettigrew doubled and drove in two runs.

"Cavs and Malone Split at Munson Stadium"

Walsh (14-12, 8-5 AMC) and Malone College (20-8, 9-3 AMC) split an American Mideast Conference double header today at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium.  Walsh took game one 7-4, but fell 8-5 in the nightcap.

Mike Muenster (Fr., Gates Mills, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) earned the win in relief in game one, working the final two innings.  He is 1-2 on the season.  Matt Marshall (Sr., New Boston, OH/Glenwood) and Duston Walter (So., Malvern, OH/HS) each had two hits.  Marshall drove in two runs and Walter one.  Mark Kelly (So., Norton, OH/HS) also had two hits.  Malone halted a Walsh rally in the seventh inning of game two to gain the split.  Walsh loaded the bases with nobody out trailing 8-5 in the seventh, but a fly out and double play ended the ballgame.  Alan Frame (Sr., Atwater, OH/Waterloo) suffered the loss to fall to 1-1.  Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) had three hits, and Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington) had a single, triple and a stolen base.  Mike Weibley (So., Mentor, OH/Lake Catholic) had two hits and an RBI.

Walsh is home to the University of Rio Grande on Friday and to Shawnee State University on Saturday.  Both are AMC double headers and will start at 1 pm.

"Cavs (13-11, 7-4 AMC N) Have Tough Week, Meet Malone at Munson Stadium Next"

It was a tough week of AMC games for the Cavs (13-11, 7-4 AMC), as they dropped four of five games.  Walsh looks to bounce back at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, with an AMC twin bill against Malone College (1 pm).  The Cavs then host Rio Grande on Friday (1 pm) and Shawnee State on Saturday (1 pm) in a pair of AMC double headers.   The Cavs are in fifth place in the AMC. 

With each team rallying in their half of the seventh inning, Walsh and Malone (15-6, 4-2) split an AMC double header at Walsh last Tuesday.  Walsh rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the opener 7-6.  With two outs and nobody on, Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) and Matt Marshall (Sr., New Boston, OH/Glenwood) produced back-to-back singles.  Duston Walter (So., Malvern, OH/HS) then singled to center on a 3-2 pitch to scored Nicholas with the tying run, and when Malone's center fielder bobbled the ball, Walsh coach Tim Mead waved around Marshall with the winning run.  Steve Weirich (So., Minerva, OH/HS) picked up the win for the Cavs.  In game two, Malone rallied with three runs in the seventh, to gain the split with a 4-2 win.  Luke Yetzer (Fr., Mansfield, OH/Madison) took the loss in relief for the Cavs.  Malone's Ryan Baechel smashed four home runs in the two games.

First baseman Jason Pettigrew leads the Cavs with a .373 batting average.  Pettigrew also has seven doubles and 18 RBI.  Second baseman Mike Suliks (So., Norton, OH/HS) is hitting .368 with nine doubles and 17 RBI.  Left fielder Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington) leads the team with 29 RBI and a .687 slugging percentage.  He is hitting .343.  Mike Weibley (So., Mentor, OH/Lake Catholic) has a seven-game hitting streak.  On the mound, Steve Weirich is 3-2 with a 2.42 ERA.   Mike Dougherty is 2-3 with a 3.31 ERA and Chris Norris is 4-1 with a 4.24 ERA.

"ODU Takes Two From Cavs"

(Columbus, OH) Walsh (13-11, 7-4 AMC) lost a pair of American Mideast Conference games at Ohio Dominican University (17-7, 6-0) today, by scores of 4-1 and 1-0.  Walsh is at Malone College (Thurman Munson Stadium) on Tuesday at 1 pm for an AMC twinbill.

Chris Norris (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) started game one and was tagged with his first loss (3-1) of the season.  Norris fanned six.  ODU scored two runs in the second inning, and single runs in the third and fourth.  Chad Campbell (Sr., Ashtabula, OH/Lakeside) drove in Walsh's only run with a fifth inning single. 

Mike Dougherty (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) started game two and was the tough luck loser, as he surrended a walk-off homerun to Eian Banks in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Dougherty is 2-3 on the season.

"Cavs Lose Marathon at Urbana"

In a game that lasted almost four hours (3:48), Walsh (13-9, 7-2 AMC) fell 7-6 in ten innings to Urbana University (11-10, 4-3 AMC) in an American Mideast Conference game at Athletes in Action in Xenia, Ohio last night.  The second game was postponed, and will be rescheduled at a later date.  The games were moved to Xenia earlier in the day and the Cavs and Blue Knights did not take the field until 7:30 pm.  Walsh is at Ohio Dominican University today for an AMC double header at 1 pm.

"Cavs Sweep Point Park, Again/Win Streak at Seven"

(Pittsburgh, PA) For the second straight day, Walsh (12-7, 6-0 AMC) swept an American Mideast Conference double header from Point Park University (1-15, 0-6 AMC), by scores of 16-11 and 13-6.  Walsh now comes home on a seven-game win streak, and on Tuesday meets rival Malone College at 1 pm in an AMC twin bill. 

After jumping to a 7-0 lead in game one, Walsh needed a six-run 7th inning to put the game one away.  Alan Frame (Sr., Atwater, OH/Waterloo) picked up his first win (1-0) of the season.  Mike Suliks (So., Norton, OH/HS) drove in two runs with a double and two singles.  Duston Walter (So., Malvern, OH/HS) had two hits, as did Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) and Mark Kelly (So., Norton, OH/HS).  Freshman Jared Roberts (Berea, OH/St. Ignatius) earned the win in game two to improve to 2-0.  Suliks had two doubles and Kelly had two singles and a double.

"Cavs Sweep Point Park, 4-0 in AMC"

Walsh improved to 4-0 in the American Mideast Conference and to 10-7 overall, with a double header sweep of Point Park University (1-13, 0-4 AMC) today.  The two teams will play in Pittsburgh tomorrow, with the first pitch slated for 2 pm.

Walsh outscored Point Park 9-7 in the opener.  Chris Norris (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) was the winning pitcher and improved his record to a perfect 4-0.  Luke Yetzer (Fr., Mansfield, OH/Madison) picked-up his first save of the season.  Chad Campbell (Sr., Ashtabula, OH/Lakeside), Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington), Jason Pettigrew (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) and Mike Suliks (So., Norton, OH/HS) each had two hits. 

Indorf powered the Cavs to a 9-2 win in the nightcap, with five RBI on a first inning three-run home run and two-run double in the second.  He now has 25 RBI on the season.  Suliks had two more hits and an RBI and Matt Marshall (Sr., New Boston, OH/Glenwood) had two hits.  Mike Dougherty (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) started and was the winning pitcher for the Cavs, improving to 2-2.

"Bats Power Cavs Over Mount Union"

Walsh (8-7) banged out 14 hits in a 9-3 non-conference win over Mount Union College today.  The two teams meet tomorrow in Alliance in another single game at 4 pm.

Walsh scored twice in the first inning, and led 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) hit a three-run home run to give the Cavs a 6-2 lead.  Nicholas also doubled and drove in four runs.  Walsh added a single run in the seventh inning and two more in the eighth.  Mount Union tacked on two runs in the top of the eighth inning. 

Steve Weirich (So., Minerva, OH/HS) came on in relief in the fifth inning to earn the win and improve to 2-1 on the season.  Mark Kelly (So., Norton, OH/HS) doubled and singled and drove in a run.  Jason Pettigrew (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) had two hits and two RBI and Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington) had two hits and two RBI.

"Cavs (7-7, 2-0 AMC) Open AMC Slate with Sweep"

Walsh (7-7, 2-0 AMC) opened American Mideast Conference play with a double header sweep of Cedarville University last Thursday.  This week, they host Mount Union College in a single game on Monday (3:30 pm) and meet Point Park University in home and home AMC games on Thursday (H) (1 pm) and in Pittsburgh on Saturday (1 pm).

Walsh took both ends of the double header with the Yellow Jackets by identical 11-0 scores.  Chris Norris (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) went the distance in game one, tossing a three-hitter to earn the win and improve to 3-0. Jason Pettigrew (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) drove in two runs with two doubles, Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) tripled and drove in a run and Mark Kelly (So., Norton, OH/HS) had two singles and an RBI.

Mike Dougherty (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) pitched a complete game in the nightcap to pick-up his first win of the season (1-2).  Tim Hromada (So., North Royalton, OH/Padua Franciscan) doubled, singled twice and drove in two runs and Matt Marshall (Sr., New Boston, OH/Glenwood) homered and doubled.  Mike Suliks (So., Norton, OH/HS) had two singles and three RBI.

Jason Pettigrew is hitting a lofty .417 for the Cavs and leads the team with 20 hits.  He is tied for the team lead in doubles with Jeff Nicholas (5) and is riding a seven-game hitting streak.  Pettigrew also has 10 RBI, as does Nicholas, who is batting .295.  Matt Marshall (Sr., New Boston, OH/Glenwood) is batting .381 and Ryan Indorf (Sr., Massillon, OH/Washington) is hitting .368 with a team-leading three homeruns and 18 RBI.  The Cavs are batting .309 as a team.  Chris Norris is 3-0, with a 2.66 ERA in four starts and a team-leading 23.2 innings pitched.  Left-hander Eric Shimko (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) is 0-1, but has a fine 1.80 ERA out of the bullpen in four games.  Steve Weirich (So., Minerva, OH/HS) is 1-1 with a 2.19 in five games.

"Cavs Split at Shawnee State"

(Portsmouth, OH) Walsh (5-7) defeated Indiana Tech and lost to Shawnee State in a split double header today.  Chris Norris (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) improved to 2-0 in game one.  Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to provide the winning margin in the 2-1 win.  Alan Frame (Sr., Atwater, OH/Waterloo) came on in relief in the sixth inning and earned his first save of the season.  Shawnee State scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning in game two in a 6-4 win.

Walsh closed its Florida trip with an 8-1 loss to Spring Arbor this afternoon.  The Cavs come home with a 4-6 record.  Jason Pettigrew (Sr., Massillon, OH/Uackson) had one of the Cavs two hits, and drove in their only run with a first inning double.  Steve Weirich (So., Minerva, OH/HS) took the loss (1-1).

"Errors Costly in Loss to Thomas"

Thomas (GA) scored five unearned runs, on their way to a 9-7 win over the Cavs (4-5) this afternoon.   Walsh banged out 13 hits, but committed three errors.  Chad Campbell (Sr., Ashtabula, OH/Lakeside) had a double, two singles and two RBI.  Tim Hromada (So., North Royalton, OH/Padua Franciscan) homered and singled, and Jeff Nicholas (Sr., Navarre, OH/Perry) had two hits and a RBI.  Mike Muenster (Fr., Gates Mills, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) took the loss.
