The game will be broadcast live on AM 900 WCER and on the internet at www.wcer.us.
Walsh last reached the final four in 2005, when they went on the win the national championship. They also appeared in 1996, losing in Nampa, Idaho.
Walsh led from start to finish for the third consecutive game. The Cavs built a 34-26 halftime lead, on the strength of Ricky Jackson's (6-7, Sr., Chicago, IL/Canton McKinley) 11 first half points. L.J. Sutton (6-5, So., Youngstown, OH/Cardinal Mooney) chipped in six points and five rebounds. The game featured one tie, 2-2. Walsh would build an early lead of 14-8, when the Eagles closed to 16-15 with 9:30 to play in the half. Walsh would extend the lead back to eight points on two Jeremy Shardo (6-3, Jr., Yorkshire, OH/Versailles) free throws to end the half.
Embry Riddle scored the first five points of the second half to cut the lead to 34-31. Walsh would regroup and extend the lead to nine points at 40-31 on two Sutton free throws with 17:08 to play.
The Cavs would keep the lead between five and eight points, when the Eagles soared to cut the lead to 47-43 with 12:37 to play. Walsh would answer the run with a 6-0 spurt to take their largest lead of the game at 53-43 on two Lamar Skeeter (6-0, Jr., Dayton, OH/Kettering Fairmont) free throws with 9:50 to play.
The Eagles would then regroup and keep the Cavs within distance, trailing 57-54 on a Ray Graham three with 4:37 left. Walsh senior Brandon Speck (6-0, Sr., Mansfield, OH/St. Peter's) LEFT then answered with one his biggest shots of the tournament, to put the Cavs ahead 59-54 with 4:36 to play. After the Eagles cut the lead to 59-56 on a Eric Lorenzi score, Speck nailed a three to put the Cavs ahead 62-56 with 3:45 left.
After Embry Riddle's Blake Touchard cut the lead to 62-58 with 3:27 to play, Jeremy Shardo hit a three as the shot clock expired from deep on the left to put the Cavs ahead 65-58 with 2:50 to play. Embry Riddle trimmed the lead to 65-61, when Jackson scored on an assist from Skeeter to put the Cavs up 67-61 with 49 seconds to play. Riddle would close to 70-67 with 11 seconds to play, but Jackson settled the issue with two free throws. Walsh would connect on seven of eight free throws in the last 32 seconds to seal the win. Walsh connected on 20-23 from the line for 87% on the afternoon.
Ricky Jackson paced the Cavs with his third straight double-double of the tournament, with 25 points and 10 rebounds. "We still haven't play our best game," said Jackson. "Coach keeps stressing defense, defense, defense. If our defense is there, we're gonna win."
Shardo added 10 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals. Skeeter and Sutton each had 10 points and six rebounds. "We're in the Final Four," exclaimed Skeeter. "It's a great win, but we're never satisfied. We kept our poise in the end, despite their pressure and remained confident. Things coach tells us everyday."
Walsh would out rebound the Eagles 43-30.
Embry Riddle's Erin Lorenzi led all scorers with 27 points.
For the third straight game the Cavs jumped on the opponent early. "We never gave-up the lead, despite a few nice runs. I told our guys to keep their poise, which they did. We made some nice plays, some free throws down the stretch and played our best defensive game of the tournament," noted head coach Jeff Young. "We try to do three things each game, hold our opponent under 65, which we just missed, commit 12 or less 12 turnovers (11) and out rebound the opponent by 12 (13). Speck and Shardo made big shots, in fact they all made big shots. That's what it takes to get to this point."
NOTES: Walsh has not trailed in the tournament. There have been only two ties; 48-48 against Sioux Falls yesterday and 2-2 today.
Walsh has won 12 straight games...

Shardo's and Skeeter's back-to-back three's were a key. "That was big, they had the momentum on their side,: exclaimed Young. "I told our guys at halftime, it's going to be a game of runs, and you have to be able to battle back. We're happy to escape with the win."
