Brian Greenwell Named Chief Information Officer

Brian Greenwell has been appointed Walsh University's new Chief Information Officer.
In his new position, Greenwell will be responsible for the Information Technology strategy of the University and management of IT resources. He will direct the operation of the Information Technology Department, which includes infrastructure, applications, customer support, telecommunications and technical services.
Greenwell brings more than 25 years of experience to this position and most recently served as Walsh’s Director of Infrastructure, where he oversaw the operations of the Information Technology Infrastructure including the Customer Service Center. In addition, from 2009 to 2013, Greenwell managed the day-to-day operations of Walsh’s Information Technology Customer Service Center. He joined Walsh in 2009 from Jasmine Jade Enterprises in Akron, OH, where he served three years as the Vice President/Director of Information Technology and was responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure, which included IP telephony and ecommerce. Prior to Jasmine Jade, Greenwell held various positions during his 17 years with Severn Trent Laboratories in North Canton, OH, including LAN Administrator/Manager of Programs and Systems from1999 to 2005.
Greenwell is also an adjunct instructor with Walsh University’s DeVille School of Business and has served for the past two years on the Walsh Faculty Learning Committee.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Institute of Technology, his Master of Science degree from The University of Toledo and is currently earning his Doctor of Business Administration and Management from Walden University with a specialization in Technology Entrepreneurship.
Greenwell resides in North Canton, OH, with his wife Joy. Together they have 2 children, Alyssa and Michael.
