Krista Singleton - Head Volleyball Coach

Singleton currently finished her third season, with a 82-28 overall record, as the Cavaliers head coach. Walsh University Director of Athletics Jim Dennison announced on February 10, 2004 that Singleton had been hired as the University's eighth volleyball coach and assistant sports information director.


Singleton led the Cavaliers to a 35-3 record and the AMC Conference Championship in 2006. The three losses are the least amount of losses in a season in Cavalier history. She was also named AMC and Region IX Coach of the Year for 2006, the first honor for Singleton. She coached one NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honoree, two First Team All-AMC, one Second Team All-AMC, and one Honorable Mention All-AMC selections. She also coached the AMC South Freshman of the Year, her second freshman of the year honor in as many years. The Cavaliers finished the season ranked No.16 in the nation in the NAIA.

Singleton guided the Cavaliers to a 21-14 record and a fifth place finish in the AMC in 2005.  She returned six of seven starters, including one All-AMC South First Teamer, three All-AMC South Honorable Mention players, two All-AMC South Freshman honorees, and the AMC South Freshman of the Year.  Singleton guided the Cavs to a 26-11 record, a quarterfinal finish at the NAIA Region IX Tournament, and a second place finish in the American Mideast Conference South Division, with a 12-4 mark, in 2004.


She is also active with Elite Sports International, USA Athletes International, and the OHSVCA Elite Camp.  She has traveled to Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii the past two summers with ESI as the coach of the Ohio team.  Singleton was also asked to coach a collegiate team in Barbados this past summer with USA Athletes International, in which they competed against the Barbados National Team and other club teams from around the island.  Krista has also been involved with the OHSVCA Elite Camp that is held every summer in July.


Singleton was a four-year starter at NCAA l Auburn University from 1994-97 and was a SEC Academic Honor Roll honoree from 1995-98. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in rehabilitation services in 1998. Krista began her coaching career with the Birmingham Volleyball Club in Birmingham, Alabama in 1998 and coached there one year. She coached the Clemson juniors in Clemson, South Carolina from 1999-2000 and served as a volunteer assistant at Clemson during the same span. 


Krista earned her master's degree at Cleveland State University in sport and exercise psychology in 2002. While at Cleveland State, she was an assistant volleyball coach and camp and clinic director from 2000-2002. Krista left collegiate coaching for one year (2002-2003), while pursuing employment at Western-Southern Financial Group in Independence, Ohio. During that time, she coached for the Cleveland Volleyball Company in Cleveland. Krista returned to the collegiate scene in 2003 at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, as an assistant coach.


She is single and resides in Canton.
