BIO 206L Microbiology Laboratory 1 sem. hr.
Students examine the microscopic and macroscopic structure of microorganisms. Students learn basic laboratory techniques including gram staining, plate streaking, methods for quanitifying microorganisms, and biochemical/immunological tests needed to identify microorganisms. The laboratory meets for two hours per week. Prerequisites: Students must have earned a C- or higher grade in either BIO 101-102 or BIO 209-210 and CHEM 101-102 or CHEM 109-110 prior to taking this course. Offered every fall and spring semester and usually in summer.
