MUS 102 Classical Music in the Modern World 3 sem. hrs.
TI: This course is an introduction to the history, characteristics and components of traditional fine-art music of the European tradition. Through lecture and listening, students will learn to aurally recognize the different features in each period of music. Ultimately, students will be able to apply that knowledge by actively listening to music of their choice and recognizing the musical elements studied. Students will also examine how and why this ancient music manifests itself meaningfully in our modern culture. Offered every semester
