SPAN 310 Human Rights in Latin America 3 sem. hrs.
Through the study of texts of fiction and non-fiction written during the civil wars and the military dictatorship governments in Latin America, students will learn about human rights violations, as well as the efforts of citizens who defended their freedom and rights. Students will reflect on the causes and consequences of human rights violations and what their own moral responsibility is after learning about these topics. Fulfills H2b requirement. Prerequisite: SPAN 302 or 308 Next offered SP-13.
