SPAN 407 Phonology and Phonetics 3 sem. hrs.
An in-depth study of phonology and phonetics in the Spanish language that emphasizes a higher understanding of phonemes and allophones as well as the regional variances found in the numerous dialects of the Spanish languages. The students will learn the dialectic system in their own utterances. For Spanish majors and minors, as well as native speakers, who are serious about achieving a much higher level of oral proficiency as well as aural comprehension. (Conducted in Spanish) Prerequisite: SPAN 302.
