PSYCH 309 Critical Issues in Child and Adolescent Development 3 sem. hrs.
HI: Cutting across several courses in the curriculum, this course in child and adolescent psychology reviews relevant aspects of child and adolescent development, examines abnormal psychology from a child and adolescent perspective, explores therapy techniques used with this segment of the population, structures assessment techniques of the young and considers the ethics of treating minors. Students will conduct research, participate in discussions and make presentations as a part of their learning experience. Prerequisites: PSYCH 120 or SOC 101 or SOC 204. PSYCH 210 recommended.
