DV: An introductory course on Latin American Film making that reflects upon films which capture historical and political moments that have deeply affected Latin America consciousness. The themes and ideas include the age of "discovery," colonial times, slavery, "civilizaciòn y barbarie," women's situations, the Cuban and the Mexican revolutions, economic conditions and immigration to the U.S. Prerequisite: SPAN 302.
