Anne M. Deffenbaugh
Anne joined Walsh University in the Fall of 2007 in Counseling and Human Development Department. She holds a B.A. in Art from the College of Wooster and earned her Masters degree in Community Counseling from the Ohio State University. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Ohio State University and has completed a Specialization in Aging.
Anne is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Ohio and has experience in community mental health agencies working with adolescents, adults and older adults. She recently completed a Clinical Fellowship at Counseling and Consultation Service at The Ohio State University working with the college student population with clinical concerns ranging from developmental tasks to schizophrenia.
At the Ohio State University, she taught undergraduate courses in education and graduate courses in counseling. She is involved in numerous professional organizations including ACA, OCA, ACES, Chi Sigma Iota, and OMHCA. Her areas of clinical interest include the incorporation of expressive arts in counseling, grief counseling, and working with older adults. Her research interests include supervision, grief counseling, the integration of spirituality in counseling, and working with older adults.
