Why did you chose Walsh?
I chose Walsh University because the business program was rated top-notch in the area. I also wanted to attend a University that was strongly based on Christian principles. In addition, I liked the small class sizes and interaction with Walsh faculty.
Describe briefly what you do in your current job:
Currently, the Bauer Research Foundation (BRF) provides resources to pet owners with animals that have cancer. I directed several research projects that have the potential to improve the standard of care in cancer medicine for both humans and pets.
How did Walsh prepare you for your current job?
My business background from Walsh has definitely been advantageous to starting/operating the BRF, in addition to other business ventures. My science training from Walsh, is one of the reasons for my success today. I was able to conduct my own research program at the Cleveland Clinic for 9 years and I have held my own in a very competitive environment. But most importantly, the Christian principles and environment I encountered made the years I spent at Walsh very rewarding and helped to build my character for the better. For me, Walsh University helped to build a strong foundation that I utilized to succeed professionally and spiritually.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering attending Walsh University?
My advice would be to schedule a visit to Walsh University, meet faculty members in the student's area of interest, and experience the Christian embrace of the campus. As a first year student, I recommend taking electives if the student is uncertain as to his/her major.
