Dr. Thomas Freeland Named 2005 Outstanding Educato

North Canton, Ohio, May 10, 2005 - Walsh University announced its Outstanding Educator of the Year at the 2005 Spring Commencement ceremony on May 8, 2005. Associate Professor of Biology and Chair of the Division of Mathematics and Sciences, Dr. Thomas M. Freeland accepted the award and addressed the 445 members of the graduating class that elected him for the honor. 

Dr. Freeland was born in Wheeling, WV and holds a B.S. from West Liberty College (1980) and a M.S. from West Virginia University (1988). He earned his Ph.D. from West Virginia University's School of Medicine (1991) and served in a variety of lecturing and teaching capacities before joining Walsh University in 1995. Dr. Freeland and wife, Denise reside in Minerva, OH with their two sons, Conor and Duncan.
