Join students from the DeVille School of Business as they celebrate entrepreneurship during the week of April 7-11. Events are free unless otherwise noted.
Monday, April 7
Northeast Ohio Entrepreneur Expo (Noon to 7:00 pm).
Tour the Expo at the Cleveland Museum of Art. This will be followed by networking event with Walsh University alums. Please register with Christine Streb to obtain your ticket and a seat on the bus at Cstreb@walsh.edu
Tuesday, April 8
Idea Lab (Noon – 10:00 pm in the David Center).
Listen to entrepreneurs discuss what it takes to be successful. In addition, participants can brainstorm ideas and work with peer entrepreneurs in entrepreneur games.
Wednesday, April 9
$500 Pitch Competition (1:00 – 4:00 pm in the David Center)
Ninety seconds and a good idea could win you $500! Craft a 90-second 'elevator pitch' in one paragraph and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Those selected will be notified to pitch their idea to a panel of judges on April 9. A winner will be selected that day.
Thursday, April 10
$500 Innovation Challenge (9:00 pm in the David Center)
Take the design-on-the-spot challenge. Dr. Steve Edelson will try and stump you, but if you rise to the challenge you could win $500! Need to attend to get the details.
Friday, April 11
48th Annual Business Club Scholarship Luncheon (11:30 am – 1:00 pm in Barrette Center)
Leila Janah will keynote Walsh University's DeVille School of Business' 48th Annual Business Club Scholarship Luncheon. Named by Entrepreneur magazine as one of seven women innovators to watch, Janah, the CEO of Samasource, will address her globally-acclaimed humanitarian business model. It connects, women, youth, and refugees living in poverty to computer-based tasks that build skills and generate life-changing income to employees in both the U.S. and abroad.
The Business and Communication Club Scholarship Luncheon brings the business community to the Walsh University campus to provide real-world insights into the world of business. In addition this event raises funds to help support the education of students majoring in business and communications. All proceeds benefit student scholarships.
The cost of this event is $5 for Walsh University students, no cost for Walsh University Business Club members, and $25 per person, or $1,000 for a sponsorship which includes a table for 8.
