Finance

Building on the solid foundation of business knowledge provided in business core coursework, the Finance major curriculum prepares a student for careers in corporate financial management, banking, and financial services. The curriculum is designed to develop the knowledge, skills, tools and techniques needed to manage the financial resources of an enterprise, a small business, a public corporation, or not-for-profit entity. The student majoring in Finance begins with the study of the basic concepts, principles and theories of Finance and progresses through the major applying these to real life problems and situations. The case study methodology is used in upper level courses and all Finance majors are encouraged to participate in an internship experience to gain experience, experience how the knowledge learned in the classroom is applied in practice, and job opportunities at graduation.

Upon graduation, Finance majors typically pursue careers in a Finance related field such as financial planning, corporate financial analysis, banking, the financial securities sectors, insurance and real estate, or continue their studies in graduate programs.
