Walsh Alumnae Tuition Discounts Graduates of Walsh University are eligible for a 25% tuition discount for graduate courses in the CHD program. To obtain this discount, alumnae students complete a request form at the time of registration in the Student Service Center

Scholarships

Premier Tuition Discount Scholarship The Counseling and Human Development programs award scholarship tuition discounts for students who are graduates of other universities based on a weighted combination of factors including financial need and academic record (GPA and admissions test scores). The purpose of these discounts is to further the mission of the university to provide educational opportunities for students whose admission to a CHD graduate program commits them to become "leaders in service" in their communities. This tuition discount program seeks to recognize both financial need and academic excellence. Tuition discounts obtained through this program are renewable as long as the student remains in good academic standing in the Counseling & Human Development programs.

Graduates of other colleges and universities who are admitted and who obtain 7 or more total premier points on this schedule, are eligible to participate in this 25% tuition discount program unless they are receiving another discount. Premier points are awarded based on the following combination of factors which are subject to annual revision:

Admissions Test requirement is waived for those who hold another graduate degree at the time of their application to the CHD program.

Application Process

Students who have been fully admitted to a CHD program are eligible to apply for the Premier Tuition Discount Program. 1.Complete the "Informational Sheet" available in the Student Service Center. 2. Attach a signed copy of your most recent 1040 Fed. Income Tax form to verify Adjusted Gross Income. 3. Submit these materials to Graduate Registration Representative Sue Reichard in the Student Service Center when you first register for courses. Thereafter, you must update your financial need information (along with the most current 1040 copy) by April 30th each year to the Financial Aid office in the Student Service Center.

Richard J. Mucowski Scholarship The $1,000 tuition scholarship is awarded annually in the Spring semester to a CHD or BA/MA student. Applications are available in the Student Service Center.

Sandra I. Lopez-Baez - Alpha Mu Scholarship This one-time $1,000 tuition scholarship, which is sponsored by the Alpha Mu Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota International, is awarded annually to a CHD student who has completed at least 15 credit hours of graduate coursework in a CHD program. Applications are available each Spring semester in the Student Service Center.

Graduate Assistantships A limited number of graduate assistantships are available for full-time students. Application is made to the Coordinator of the CHD program in the Spring semester of each year.

The maximum amount a graduate assistant may earn in one year is established by the University. Appointments are made for 20 hours of service each week. Some Graduate assistantships also carry a one-course tuition remission for each semester of service.

Student Loans Students may apply for Stafford loans for graduate study through the Financial Aid office in the Student Service Center. Students apply each Spring for these annual loans.
