Half the Sky: Exploring Our Multicultural Competence

Walsh Unviersity's Counseling and Human Development Program and Alpha Mu Chapter, Chi Sigma Iota present this continuing education program. Counselors may obtain 2.0 contact hours for counselors per OCSWMFTB.

Facilitators:Linda L. Barclay Ph.D., LPCC-S, LICDC, NCC and Azra Karajic Siwiec Ph.D., LPC, NCC

Cost: $10 (Free for Alpha Mu members and active Walsh University supervisors.)

Objectives:

  • Increase awareness regarding oppression of women worldwide
  • Identify empowering strategies for responding to oppressed women in counseling
  • Explore ways to integrate feminist values in clinical care through discussion of a specific case scenario
