Former standout pitcher, Jaime (Aeschlimann) Porter (73-55) begins her fourth season as the head softball coach at Walsh. Porter has been associated with the program since her playing days as a graduate assistant and assistant coach. She earned her undergraduate degree (psychology, '03) from Walsh and her master's degree (counseling, '08) from Walsh. She was elected to the Walsh Wall of Fame in 2011.
In her first season at the helm, Jaime led the Cavs to an overall record of 19-17. The Cavs finished fourth in the American Mideast Conference with a 9-5 mark. In 2012, she guided the Cavs to a 36-18 overall record and the AMC championship after a 13-3 conference finish. In their first season of GLIAC competition, the Cavs finished 8-16 in the conference and 18-20 overall.
Jaime was a standout pitcher at Tuslaw High School before enrolling at Walsh. She won 58 games for the Mustangs and set a single game strikeout mark of 17, leading them to four straight PAC-7 titles. Jaime won 17 games as a senior, with an 0.65 ERA. She also set records for strikeouts in a single season (171) and career (390). Jaime was a four-time All-PAC-7 selection and was conference player of the year as a senior.
Porter made her mark at Walsh right away, with an 8-5 record as a freshman with a 1.56 ERA. As a sophomore, she led the staff with eight wins and a 1.74 ERA. Jaime would earn second-team All-AMC honors as a junior, winning 14 games with a 1.92 ERA. Her senior year would be her finest. Jaime earned first-team All-AMC honors after finishing 15-5 with 1.13 ERA. She would fan 97 hitters, while issuing just 26 walks in 124 innings. She completed 15 of 21 starts and tossed six shutouts. At the plate, she hit .306 with four homeruns and a team-leading 49 RBI. She still ranks eighth all-time with 31 doubles and seventh with 96 RBI. On the pitching side, Jaime's name can be found throughout the record books. She is third in career appearances (89), games started (74), innings pitched (474),strikeouts (289) and ERA (1.64). She is fourth in career wins with 46 and seventh in complete games with 42. This past fall she was elected into the Walsh University Wall of Fame.
Jaime spent one season (2007-2008) as head coach at her alma mater (Tuslaw).
She resides in Massillon, with her husband Dan and daughter Hadley.
