Head Coach - Sara Renard

Walsh University Director of Athletics Dale Howard has announced the hiring of Sara Renard as the head women’s soccer and softball coach.

The appointment marks the first collegiate head coaching position for the Stow, Ohio native.  Renard earned her BS in mathematics from Malone College in May of 2003 and her Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology in August of 2007.  She lettered for the Malone soccer team and served as Team Captain in 2001 and 2002.  Renard earned NAIA and American Mideast Conference Scholar-Athlete recognition and was named the Pioneers’ Best Defensive Player.

This past year, she was the boy’s junior varsity head coach at Stow-Munroe Falls High School, where she also taught mathematics.  She also served as a graduate assistant in women's soccer at Malone for the 2005 season.  She served as an instructor at the Malone Pioneer Women's Soccer Camp from 2000 to 2006 and at the Campbell University and Kent State University Soccer Camps.  Sara was the head girl’s soccer coach at Cuyahoga Falls High Soccer from July 2003-May 2004.

"I am excited for the opportunity to work with young women athletes and hope to continue to develop strong soccer and softball programs by expanding on the solid foundations that have already been established,” exclaimed Renard. “Setting high expectations, insisting on hard work and demanding strong commitments for excellence will be the focus of our practices and games. My experience as a teacher, coach, and collegiate athlete supports my philosophy that each athlete will strive to reach her fullest potential on the field and in the classroom."

Renard, who is currently an adjunct professor at Walsh in Euclidean Geometry, resides in Stow with her husband, Dave, and daughter, Mia.
