How does Walsh match students with their roommates?
Freshman housing assignments take place during the summer. Once a housing deposit is received from an incoming freshman, he/she will receive all the housing forms necessary to live on campus (note that students who deposit first receive priority of any roommate requests). Included in the housing packet is a questionnaire that the Director of Residence Life will use to match compatible roommates. During the first week of school, students are required to work with their roommate and Resident Advisor to develop a roommate contract, which later helps to resolve many problems that could potentially arise. However, if a student is having roommate difficulty, his/her Resident Advisor and Hall Director will work with both students to address the situation and make any necessary changes.
