In order to become a Resident Assistant, you must meet specific qualifications and complete the standard application and interview process. Qualifications · Present undergraduate or graduate students at · Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, organizational skills, and sense of humor are a must. · Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and solid academic credentials each semester · Completion of a minimum of 12 credit hours prior to date of employment. January Information Sessions Heres your chance to learn what it takes to be a Resident Assistant! The Residence Life professional staff will provide a brief overview of the RA position and current staff members will be available to answer your questions. Applications will also be available during the info sessions. We hope to see you there! Sunday January 13th Alexis Hall Lobby 9:15pm Monday January 14th Tuesday January 15th Towers Two Lobby 9:15pm Wednesday January 16th Lemmon Community Room 9:15pm Resident Assistant Selection Beginning in January of 2008, the Department of Residence Life will host a series of information sessions about the RA role and the selection process. Students that are interested in applying for the position will be issued an application and will be asked to return it to the Office of Students Affairs by January 30th. Upon approval of the application, academic and judicial screening, the candidate will be permitted to take part in Phase I and Phase II of the interview process.
Phase I Group Interviews Saturday February 9th, 2008 The group interview process provides the candidate with the opportunity to interact with other candidates in a group setting. Each group is presented with five different scenarios to process and evaluate as a team. Phase II Individual Interviews Sunday February 10th, 2008 The candidates will also have the opportunity to individually interview with a small group of Resident Assistants. Each candidate will meet for two 30-minute interviews with the current Residence Life staff. Upon completion of Phase I & Phase II of the interview process, the Residence Life professional staff will determine which candidates will and will not proceed to Phase III interviews. Phase III Professional Staff Interviews To Be Announced The candidates who proceed to Phase III will be invited to a 45-minute interview with the Residence Life Professional staff. After all Phase III interviews are complete, the Residence Life Professional staff will provide offers based upon the number of open positions.
