This experience will focus on academic excellence and highlight diversity. It will offer you the opportunity to interact, compare, communicate, and attempt to bring new and unique solutions to mutually-held problems. Anticipate on this being a personally and professionally fulfilling learning adventure at the Kisubi Brothers University Center (KBUC)!

Dates: July 7- July 23, 2010

Program Cost:
 $4,000 (Includes airfare, lodging, meals, entrance fees, transportation, and tuition for six credits). *Students will earn six credits from Walsh University, though pay the KBUC rate- an incredible discount!

Courses Offered: 

EDF 601 Psychology of Learning

EDT 725-U Special Topics: Education in Uganda

While in Uganda, the group will take these classes alongside Ugandan students enrolled in the Walsh MAED program at KBUC. As field experience, the American students will visit their Ugandan counterparts in their classrooms and schools, along with visiting numerous other cultural and natural heritage sites in Uganda.

Field Experience/Site Visits: St. Savio Boys Primary School, St. Mary's College, Kisubi Mapera Secondary School, St. Theresa Girls Primary School, St. Donozio Primary School, St. Joseph Technical School, Mugezi Senior Secondary School, Uganda Martyr's University, Source of the Nile, the Equator, African Craft Village, Kasubi Tombs, Plastic Recycling Industries, Ndere Dance Troupe, and three-day safari at Murchison Falls National Park

Eligibility Criteria

  • Successfully completed one semester at Walsh (12 credit hours)
  • 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Good standing with Student Affairs and Academic Affairs
