Internship

The Internship Program provides qualified Business Division students practical business experiences that compliments their academic preparation.  The program strives to help students better understand proffessional business practices and job skills through paid or unpaid employment in area businesses and institutions.

The Internship Program is offered year-round with Fall, Spring and Summer terms.  Business students can earn credits as follows:

  • One hour of credit for each three hours of internship experience per week for one semester (15 weeks) depending upon satisifactory evaluation of student work.  (For example, an intern will need to work 135 hours to receive 3 hours of academic credit or 270 hours for 6 hours of credit.)  
  • A minimum of two credit hours and a maximum of nine credit hours can be earned by any one student during his/her Walsh career.
  • Letter grades will be assigned by the Internship Faculty Director according to the published University grading system.  Grades will be assigned by the director based on the (a) quality of reports, (b) evaluation by the supervisor, and (c) results of interview, discussion with the director, and other criteria.
