Kelly Jo Anna

Jo Anna Kelly earned a B.A. degree in Sociology from the University of Akron with a certificate in Life Span Development and Gerontology.  She has an M.A. degree in Adult Education from The Ohio State University.  She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Case Western Reserve University.  At Case she specialized in medical sociology and gerontology.  She has over 13 years experience teaching on the university level.  She has worked as a researcher for the Benjamin Rose Institute, a non-profit health and social service agency serving the elderly, in Cleveland, Ohio.  She has also worked as a licensed social worker with over 10 years experience working in nursing homes and home and community-based social work with elderly and terminally ill clients.  Jo Anna's research interests include quality of care in nursing homes, caregiving, advance directives and end-of-life issues.  Jo Anna has been married to John Kelly for 17 years and has a nine year-old daughter, Shannon.  Her hobbies include reading, photography, music and athletics.
