Karen Heimgartner

Karen Heimgartner, a 2000 graduate, lettered four times for the Cavs Softball Team. A right-handed pitcher, Heimgartner owns virtually all of Walsh's pitching records. After earning second-team All-AMC honors with a 12-7 record as a freshman, Heimgartner would win 55 games the next three years and lead Walsh to their first NAIA World Series appearance in 2000. Heimgartner was named first-team All-AMC her final three years, going 17-10, 14-9 and a Walsh record 24-9 in 2000. She was named first-team NAIA Region IX as a junior and senior and honorable mention NAIA All-American and Walsh's Female Athlete of the Year her final year. Karen ranks first in career wins (67), games pitched (111), games started (92), complete games (79), innings pitched (668), strikeouts (612) and ERA (1.41).
