Kevin Longanecker - Assistant Coach

Kevin Longanecker begins his first year as an assistant basketball coach at Walsh.  Longanecker, who came to Walsh last July, is also the Head Women's Golf Coach. 

Longanecker is a 1985 graduate of Kent State University, and recently taught at Stow High School (OH).  He was the junior varsity boys’ basketball coach at Stow.  He is being reunited with Coach Wartluft, whom he served under as a student assistant coach at Kent State in 1984-85. 

Kevin was head basketball coach at Kent Roosevelt High School (OH) (2001-2005), Salem High School (OH) (1994-1998) and Big Spring High School (PA) (1991-1994).  He served as an assistant coach at Cloverdale High School (IN) (1987-1989) and Bristol High School (OH) (1985-87, 1983-84).  He was also the head golf coach at Cloverdale and served as an assistant in track and football.

Longanecker played varsity basketball, football and track at Astoria High School (1978-1980) and played basketball at Kent State-Trumbull (1982-83).  He graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in secondary education (1985).  Kevin and his wife, Janet, have two daughters (Meagan, Melanie) and one son (Zachary) and reside in Kent, Ohio.
