Kevin Longanecker - Head Golf Coach
Kevin Longanecker (174-97) is back for his fourth year as head golf coach. After a fifth place finish at the AMC Championships in 2008, Longanecker has led the Cavs to back-to-back AMC Championships. The Cavs finished 100-29 last year, with eight tournament championships. He has been AMC Coach of the Year in each of the last two years. The Cavs finished 53-27 in 2008-09 and qualified for the NAIA National Championships.
He is also an assistant women's basketball coach at Walsh, and last year assisted in Walsh's winning the AMC Tournament Championship and qualifying for the NAIA National Tournament..
Longanecker is a 1985 graduate of Kent State University, who most recently taught at Stow High School (OH) and was the junior varsity boys’ basketball coach.
He has served as a head high school coach at Kent Roosevelt High School (OH) (2001-2005), Salem High School (OH) (1994-1998) and Big Spring High School (PA) (1991-1994). Longanecker was a basketball assistant coach at Cloverdale High School (IN) (1987-1989), Bristol High School (OH) (1985-87, 1983-84). He was also the Head Golf Coach at Cloverdale. He also coached track and football at Cloverdale.
Longanecker played varsity basketball, football and track at Astoria High School (1978-1980) and played basketball at Kent State-Trumbull (1982-83). He graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in secondary education (1985).
He resides in Kent, with his wife, Janet, and their three children.
