Why did you chose Walsh?
One of the main reasons I chose Walsh University was because it has one of the most reputable nursing programs in Ohio. I wanted to graduate college with the knowledge and skill set that would adequately prepare me for any career path in nursing.
Describe briefly what you do in your current job:
In the urgent care setting at The MinuteClinic, I work independently seeing patients for everything from rashes to general health screenings. I also may see patients that I assess and refer to higher levels of care based on their condition. In the long-term care setting at Matrix Medical Network, I complete general physical exams and conduct thorough chart reviews in order to complete comprehensive health risk assessments.
How did Walsh prepare you for your current job?
I gained the requisite knowledge base and credentialing required to continue my studies toward obtaining my MSN degree and NP certification. I truly feel that this program prepared me for my graduate program, as I was also able to maintain a full-time nursing position to gain nursing experience while I completed my graduate program.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering attending Walsh University?
If you are considering Walsh for nursing, come prepared with determination and dedication. It is definitely a demanding program, but it gives you the knowledge and skills that are crucial to ensure you succeed in any path you decide to take afterward.
