Bukenya, Rev. Fr. Dr. Aloysius Lwanga

 

Rev. Fr. Dr. Bukenya is a Faculty Member in Kisubi Uganda and was recently appointed  Dean of the Faculty.  He completed his doctoral work at the University of Warwick, with a research focus on the impact of HIV/AIDS on secondary school students.  He has a M.A. from the University of Warwick in Educational Studies.  He graduated from Makerere University Kampala with a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree, focusing on history, religious studies, and education.  He also has a Diploma of Theology and Diploma of Philosophy from the Apostles of Jesus Seminary in Nairobi, Kenya. 

 

 

Teaching

Rev. Fr. Dr. Bukenya teaches courses including School and Society, Human Growth and Development, Ethical Dimensions of Counseling, and Educational Philosophy courses.  He has previously served as faculty at Kabale University, Rector of the Apostles of Jesus Junior Seminary, and as a Parish Priest in England.  Prior to that, he was a secondary school teacher at Moroto High School, as well as discipline secretary at Makerere University.  While teaching at Bukinda Seminary, he also served as Dean of Studies. 

 

Scholarship

Rev. Fr. Dr. Bukenya has facilitated research methods seminars and courses, as well as workshops by the National Council for Disability.  His research interests include sociology of education in Uganda and Africa.  This includes effects of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, war ad conflict, and sources of support within education systems.  

 

Service

Rev. Fr. Dr. Bukenya serves as a Catholic priest, as well as provides various lectures and workshops.
