Kristin Readence (Ortopan)

Kristin (Readence) Ortopan (Volleyball, 2000-2003) lettered four times as a middle blocker for the Cavs. Readence earned first-team All-AMC honors four times and played on three NAIA National Qualifying teams. Kristin was named to the AMC's First-Team and All-Freshman Team after leading the Cavs in kills (313), kills per game (2.90), hitting percentage (.320), blocks (106), and blocks per game (.98). She was also named second-team All-Region IX. Her second season was just as successful as Walsh won the NAIA Region IX Championship and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time. For the second straight year Readence led the Cavs in kills (468), kills per game (3.18), hitting percentage (.320), and blocks (139). She also was selected Walsh's Offensive Player of the Year, first-team NAIA Region IX and honorable mention NAIA All-American. Walsh returned to the NAIA National Tournament Kristin's junior year as she earned NAIA Honorable Mention honors and NAIA Region IX accolades for the second straight season. She led the team in hitting percentage (.410), blocks (188), and blocks per game (1.37), while finishing second in kills (460) and third in kills per game (3.36). She ranked fifth in the NAIA in hitting percentage. Her senior season proved the most successful for the Cavs Co-Captain as the team won its second straight regional title and advanced to the NAIA Elite Eight, the most successful run in Cavs Volleyball history. Kristin again received NAIA Region IX First-Team accolades and was also named as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete for her success in the classroom. She finished second on the team in kills (445), kills per game (3.30), led the team in attack percentage (.429), and was again recognized on the NAIA All-American team (honorable mention). She ranks third in career attack percentage (.367) and for a single season (.410), and is sixth in career kills (1,686).
