"Cavs Down Carnegie Mellon"
Walsh (4-1) defeated Carnegie Mellon University 12-7 last night. Walsh scored in every period, leading 3-0 after the the first period, 6-1 at half, and 8-4 after three periods. The Cavs outscored the visitors 4-3 in the final period.
Walsh's final home game is Saturday, May 1 against Butler University at 1 pm.

"Cavs Win at John Carroll"
Walsh improved to 3-1 on the season, with an 18-8 win at John Carroll University tonight. The Blue Streaks took their only lead of the game at 2-0. Walsh rallied and score was tied 3-3 at the end of the first period. Walsh then took the lead for good, holding a 7-3 halftime advantage and a 13-6 lead after three periods.
Travis VonAllmen (So., Green, OH/HS) scored five times for the Cavs and handed out two assists. Ian Maurer (Fr., Jackson Twp., OH/Jackson) handed oout six assists and scored once. Nick Amendola (Jr., Long Island, NY/Centereach) scored three times, as did Cody Stoll (Fr., Jackson Twp., OH/Jackson) and Chad Greenlee (Fr., Green OH/HS). Adam Reolfi (So., North Canton, OH/Hoover) scored twice and dished out an assist and Steve Stack Jr., Canfield, OH/Western) scored a goal and dished out an assist.
Nate Latimer (So., Sunbury, OH/Big Walnut) controlled the midfield with 12 ground balls.

"Cavs Fall for First Time"
(Painesville, OH) Lake Erie College (3-4) outscored Walsh (2-1) a combined 16-2 in the second and third periods, on their way to a 20-4 win tonight. The loss was the first for the Cavs.
The Cavs trailed just 3-2 after the first period, but were outscored 10-1 in the second period and trailed 13-3 at halftime. Lake Erie put the game away in the third period, outscoing the Cavs 6-1.
Nick Amendola (Jr., Long Island, NY/Centereach) scored two goals for the Cavs. Nate Latimer (So., Sunbury, OH/Big Walnut) and Travis VonAllmen (So., Green, OH/HS) scored Walsh's other goals. Ian Maurer (Fr., Jackson Twp., OH/Jackson) handed two assists.
Walsh is home next Friday to Miami of Ohio. Game time is to be announced.

"Amendola, Maurer Lead Walsh to First Home Win"
Walsh University improved to 2-0 on the season, after defeating Siena Heights University 11-4 today. The loss dropped the Saints to 1-2. The Cavs are back in action on Friday, April 9, when they travel to Lake Erie College.
Nick Amendola (Jr., Long Island, NY/Centereach) scored five goals and Ian Maurer (Fr., Jackson Twp., OH/Jackson) handed five assists in the win. Maurer also scored twice. Travis VonAllmen (So., Green, OH/HS) also scored twice.
Walsh led 3-1 after one period and built a 7-3 lead at the half. Walsh would then outscore the Saints 4-1 in the second half.
Jason Lockwood (Fr., Powell, OH/Olentangy Liberty) recorded five saves and was outstanding in the clearing game and Steve Stack (Jr., Canfield, OH/Western) combined to win 13 out of 18 faceoffs.
Lacrosse
Walsh University has announced that it will launch a new men’s Lacrosse team for the spring 2010 season.
Though growing in popularity in Northeast Ohio, Lacrosse is considered an emerging sport by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA).
Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing team sports in the United States. Youth participation in the sport has grown over 500% since 1999 to nearly 250,000. No sport has grown faster at the high school level over the last 10 years and there are now an estimated 200,000 high school players. Lacrosse is also the fastest-growing sport over the last six years at the NCAA level and there are more than 500 college club programs that compete at the college level
