Majors and Programs

Walsh offers majors in six areas of business and a unique. The business majors are accounting, finance, general business, Latin American business practices, management with specializations in Human Resource Management and Organizational Leadershipmanagement Information Systems, and marketing. Each major builds a specialization on a foundation of a common core of business knowledge.

When you graduate with your selected major you will be professionally prepared for a job in today's competitive global business environment.

A "real world" experience prior to graduation gives you a competitive edge in a job search, and business faculty encourage all business majors to participate in such experiences. Internship experiences are available for students in their third year. Discussion of ethical business practices are integrated throughout the business curriculum.

If you are interested in pursing an accounting career and a Certified Public Accountant certification, Walsh has a "CPA Readiness Program." With some additional course work required by the Accountancy Board, you would be prepared to take the CPA examination when you graduate.

To complement other liberal arts majors, the School of Business offers minors in accounting, business (for non business majors), management (for psychology and sociology majors), marketing and economics.
