Matthew and Luke on Jesus
Date(s):
Feb. 5, 2013 - Mar. 19, 2013
Event Time: 6 PM - 7 PM
From Christmas the Calvary, Matthew and Luke's portraits of Jesus dominate the Christian imagination. It is these evangelists who most explicitly locate Jesus' life, death and resurrection within the context of Sacred Scripture, linking Israel's story to the story of the Church. It is through their artistry that we encounter some of the best-known Gospel passages: the nativity, the temptations, the Sermon on the Mount, and more.
Come join Chris Seeman of Walsh University for a seven-week exploration of Matthew and Luke on Jesus. Each hour-long presentation will focus on a particular story or theme common to their Gospels:
WEEK 1 (Tuesday, February 5): .....................................................Birth
WEEK 2 (Tuesday, February 12): ..............................................Baptism
WEEK 3 (Tuesday, February 19): .............................................Sermons
WEEK 4 (Tuesday, February 26): ..............................................Parables
WEEK 5 (Tuesday, March 5): ..................................................Disciples
WEEK 6 (Tuesday, March 12): ...................................................Temple
WEEK 7 (Tuesday, March 19): ...................................................Passion
