Walsh Names New Director of University Wellness

Walsh University officials have announced the recent appointment of Megan Allen as the new Director of University Wellness.
Prior to joining Walsh, Allen served as the Director of Memory Care at Woodside Village in Bedford, Ohio. Her previous employment experience includes Health Technician, Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer at Akron General - Life Styles. Megan has a Master of Science in Education – Sports Managements and a Bachelor of Science in Education – Exercise Physiology/Cardiac Rehab from the University of Akron.
"We're so pleased to have Megan join the Student Affairs team and Walsh community," said Bryan Badar, assistant dean of students. "Her professional background and passion for wellness will certainly have a substantial impact for our students and staff."
The Division of Student Affairs at Walsh University has been structured to reflect the University's commitment to student development and retention. The Director of University Wellness plays an integral role in actualizing this commitment while also furthering the development of a wellness culture for all constituencies within the Walsh University community.
The Director of University Wellness will plan, coordinate, and implement a broad range of activities and programs designed to help meet the wellness (physical, educational and recreational) interests and needs of the Walsh community. This professional will also coordinate services for students with physical disabilities. The Director of University Wellness will be responsible to work collaboratively with academic programs and community resources to coordinate the Community Clinic program. Involvement in external community wellness organizations may also be required.
