50th Anniversary Commemorative Float Wins Enshrinees' Award in HOF Timken Grand Parade

In honor of our 50th Anniversary, Walsh University made an appearance in this year’s nationally televised Pro Football Hall of Fame Timken Grand Parade on Saturday, August 7 in downtown Canton.  Escorted by Walsh student athletes and choir the beautiful 50th Anniversary Commemorative Float won the Enshrinees’ Award  for the most effective use of color harmony.

The Timken Grand Parade has been a tradition since 1963 when 40,000 spectators attended the first parade.  Since then, it has grown to enormous proportions and achieved tremendous popularity, with a crowd of 200,000 lining the parade route each year and millions more viewing it via the television broadcast.  The parade typically features approximately 125 entries, including spectacular floats, marching bands, helium balloons, clowns and costume characters, unique specialty units, returning Hall of Famers, and the current class of Enshrinees with their presenters.
