Rebirth of the Renaissance
Date(s):
Feb. 17, 2012 - Feb. 17, 2012
Event Time: 7:30 PM
The Harlem Renaissance was a cultural movement that spanned the 1920s and 1930a. At the time, it was known as the "New Negro Movement." Come to the Barrette Business and Community Center (FCC-B&C) for a trip down memory lane with music, dancing, and live band.
Performances will include Walsh students, faculty and staff, Canton City Schools' Early College Academy step team, Canton Elite Dance Studio, and feature the Carson Barnes Jazz Quartet from Cleveland, Ohio.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Uganda 2012 student fund in support of their efforts to travel to Kisubi, Uganda and assist in the Ziika Women's Microfinance Project.
Tickets are $5 for adults/faculty/staff, and $2 for children and Walsh students with an ID.
