Walsh Appoints Shelley Brown Vice President of Finance

What's New, 2012-03-22

Walsh University has announced the appointment of Shelley Brown as Vice President for Finance and Treasurer. Brown has served as Walsh's Associate Vice President of Finance since 2010 and will replace outgoing Vice President Philip J. Daniels, who has accepted the position of Vice President for Finance and Treasurer of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.

As Vice President for Finance and Treasurer, Brown will be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the University. She will manage and provide leadership, strategic planning and coordination for the Business and Finance Division while also serving as Treasurer to the Board of Directors.

In addition to her fiscal responsibilities, Brown will provide direction to the construction, renovation, maintenance and care of buildings and grounds, including the oversight of campus facilities and services. The VP for Finance directly supervises the Walsh Departments of Finance, Human Resources, Facilities and Grounds, Purchasing, Special Programs and Capital Projects.

Brown will continue to oversee the development of the university operating budget and serve as the primary liaison with our two outsource service providers for dining services and bookstore operations. She will also provide leadership and direction to professional staff.

Brown has also previously served as the Assistant Director of Finance/Controller and Controller for Walsh's Finance Division. Before joining Walsh in 1999, Brown held accounting and auditing positions at the State of Ohio Auditor's Office, the Defense Contract Audit Agency, the M. O'Neil Company and the Lebanon City School District. She earned a BS in Accounting at Miami University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Brown and her husband Gary make their home in Uniontown and have two children, son Curt and daughter Amy.
