Major: Pre-Medicine/Biology
Minor: Medical Humanities

Ethan Frost, a first-generation student majoring in Pre-Medicine/Biology with a minor in Medical Humanities, embodies the spirit of servant leadership and faith-driven ambition that defines the Walsh University experience. Drawn to Walsh by its strong sense of community, Ethan found his stride as a Resident Assistant (RA), overcoming a severe stutter to emerge as a confident communicator and leader. His position as an RA not only developed his leadership skills but also instilled in him a sense of empathy and understanding for diverse perspectives—a quality essential for his future role as a physician.

“Walsh has given me a great education and prepared me for medical school,” he said. “I’ve also grown in my faith and closer to God, which has helped me find my life’s calling.”

While Walsh has prepared Ethan academically for medical school, it also introduced him to his fiancée, Grace Reed, shaping his personal life in ways he never imagined.

“Working toward my goal of becoming a family physician, I wasn’t actively seeking romance during my undergrad years,” he said. “However, God had a different plan for me. Turns out, love found its way to me, and it was the best surprise I could have asked for. The unexpected twist has left its mark on my time at Walsh.”

Frost developed a passion for family medicine thanks to the inspiration of local physician Dr. Mark Hillyer. As a future physician himself, Frost would like to embody the values of compassion, scientific inquiry, and faith.

“I envision dedicating myself to medical mission trips, embracing diverse cultures, and serving various communities,” he explained. “My passion for science, biology, and my deep-rooted faith in Christ drive me toward a holistic approach to healthcare. I aspire to make a comprehensive impact on both individuals and communities.”

Ethan’s advice to prospective students is to embrace the close-knit community, seek support when needed, and cherish the present while aspiring for the future. His involvement in athletics, campus organizations like Cavs for Life and College Republicans, and the honors program reflect his own multifaceted engagement with the Walsh community.
