Director of Gift Planning – Walsh University

 

This position is directly responsible for the administration of the Planned Giving Program and capital projects solicitation.  Particular focus will be on identifying, cultivating and successfully soliciting new prospects to the University.  The Director will collaborate with other members of the Advancement team on special events planning, all other efforts to meet fund raising objectives and goals and will assist in the coordination and development of external committees.

 

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and a minimum of four years direct fundraising experience, preferably in higher education. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to handle multiple projects are a must. Some weekend and evening hours required.

 

Additional qualifications include success in designing, implementing, and administering programs related to fundraising, planned giving, volunteer management, or related fields.  Experience in financial/estate planning is helpful.

FINANCIAL AID/TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

 

Walsh University is seeking to fill a Financial Aid/Technical Support Specialist position within its Student Service Center. This individual will report to the Director of Financial Aid and be responsible for performing/overseeing/coordinating the technical aspects of financial aid processes and reporting. Other duties will include basic financial aid packaging and revising.  Other more general job duties will include assisting students at the front counter with basic registration and student account issues on an as-needed basis.

 

A bachelor’s degree is required and the ideal candidate will have financial aid experience, preferably at a professional level.  Must also be extremely proficient in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word. Working knowledge of Banner, EDExpress, EDConnect, NSLDS, HEI, and FAA Access a definite plus.  More general, yet equally important requirements include exceptional customer service and organizational skills. This candidate must also be extremely detail oriented and have the ability to work independently and quickly in a fast-paced environment.

NCATE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE POSITION

1/ 2 time Staff Position


Walsh University, a Catholic institution located in North Canton, OH, offers a liberal arts undergraduate education and graduate programs at the master’s level, including a Master of Arts in Education. A commitment to the Judeo Christian tradition, diversity, and service learning is critical to the mission of the Division of Education and to the University.

The Division of Education is seeking candidates with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, FrontPage, PowerPoint, Publisher), shown by current certificate in Microsoft Office or computer literacy test. Familiarity with Internet protocols and web design are also required. Applicants will have an earned Bachelor’s degree, must have experience in education, with experience in higher education preferred. It is also highly desired that candidates have experience in successfully working with NCATE accreditation.

Candidates should have evidence of extensive experience in data entry and statistical analysis.Strong organizational and communication skills are required with an ability to work both independently and in a team setting.Candidates should be self-directed, accurate with attention to detail.The position may require flexible hours and possible weekend work for special projects and other duties as assigned.

The position is available beginning with the fall semester, 2008. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
