WALSH UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES FACULTY TENURE AND PROMOTIONS

Three Honored with Professor Emeritus Status

North Canton, Ohio – Walsh University proudly announced the promotion and tenure appointment of faculty for the up-coming academic year at a recent university dinner for the Walsh community.

  • Dr. Jorge Barrueto was appointed tenure and promoted to Associate Professor of Spanish.
  • Dr. Jennifer Clevinger was appointed tenure and promoted to Associate Professor of Biology.
  • Dr. Weiping Li was appointed tenure and promoted to Associate Professor of Mathematics.
  • Dr. Ronald Scott was appointed tenure and promoted to Associate Professor English.
  • Dr. Peter Yacobucci was appointed tenure and promoted to Associate Professor in Government and Foreign Affairs.
  • Dr. Carey Walsh was appointed tenure and promoted to Associate Professor of Theology.
  • Rebecca Heyne was promoted from Clinical Instructor to Clinical Assistant Professor.
  • Sue Wechter was promoted from Clinical Instructor to Clinical Assistant Professor.
  • Dr. Shauntey James was appointed tenure. She serves as Assistant Professor of Sociology.

In addition, three retiring faculty members were granted the honor of Professor Emeritus. In the history of Walsh University, only three professors have been honored with this designation, the last appointment occurring in 1995. Professor Emeritus candidates must have demonstrated excellence in teaching with over 20 years of service to Walsh University.

  • Dr. Milan Savan, Professor of Graduate and Undergraduate Business joined Walsh in 1986.
  • Dr. Warren Harrington, Professor of Theology joined Walsh in 1975.
  • Dr. Frank P. Vazzano, Professor of History joined Walsh in 1971.
