Tim Thompson
Tim Thompson (1994-97) earned three
tennis letters for the Cavs, and became the first player to win
conference tournament championships in singles and doubles in the
same year, when he accomplished the feat his senior year. Thompson
earned All-Great Lakes Region honors in 1994 and reached the
singles' semi-finals and was a doubles finalist. He finished 10-6
in singles and 12-4 in doubles his sophomore year. As a junior, he
finished 13-3 in singles and 12-1 in doubles to earn All-Mid-Ohio
Conference honors. He reached the MOC singles finals and partnered
with Ray Eshenaur to become the only Walsh doubles team to have an
undefeated regular season. As a senior he finished 17-3 in singles
and doubles, and led Walsh to its first Team NAIA National
Tournament appearance. He recorded a career singles mark of 40-12
and a career doubles mark of 41-8. Tim's wife Darci was selected to
the Wall of Fame last year. Tim graduated from Rosecrans High
School in Zanesville, Ohio.
