"Cofojohn 9th in Shot"
(Johnson City, TN) Danielle Cofojohn (Sr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) PICTURED LEFT reached the finals, and finished ninth in the shot put, with a toss of 42-11.50 at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships.
Stephanie Foster (Fr., Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) competed, but did not qualify for the finals in the pole vault. The Cavs 4x400 relay team of Sarah Martter (Fr., Peninsula, OH/Woodbridge), Carley Adams (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS), Molly Martin (Fr., Canfield, OH/HS), and Allison Swarny (Fr., Bolivar, OH/Tusky Valley) competed by also did not qualify for the finals.

"Cavs Set For Indoor National Meet"
The following athletes have qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships, being held in Johnson City, TN, March 4-6.
On the women's side, Shot Put – Danielle Cofojohn (Sr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) in the shot put, Stephanie Foster (Fr., Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) in the pole vault and the 4x400 relay team of Sarah Martter (Fr., Peninsula, OH/Woodbridge), Carley Adams (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS), Molly Martin (Fr., Canfield, OH/HS), and Allison Swarny (Fr., Bolivar, OH/Tusky Valley).

“Cofojohn, Foster, Plus Relay Team Qualify for Nationals”
Walsh fared well, splitting squads between the Mount Union College Purple Raider Open and the Kent State Tune-Up yesterday.
At Kent State, Danielle Cofojohn finished fifth in the shot put 5th in 43-9.00, another “A’ qualifying mark. She also shattered her won school record of 42-5.5.
Stephanie Foster (Fr., Lodi,OH/Cloverleaf) had another "B" standard and finished sixth at 10-10 in the pole vault.
The Cavs 4x400m relay team of Sarah Martter (Fr., Peninsula, OH/Woodbridge), Carley Adams (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS), Molly Martin (Fr., Canfield, OH/HS), Allison Swarny (Fr., Bolivar, OH/Tusky Valley) ran to a new school record and a "B" qualifying mark with a mark of 4:03.21. This shattered the previous record of 4:06.69.
The Cavs had several place at Mount Union, with Kristi Havens (Jr., Wadsworth,OH/HS) finishing second in the 1000m in a time of 3:15.36. The Cavs 4x200 relay team of Chelsea Megyes (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS), Ruth Giles (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS, Alyssa Akers (So., DeWitt, IA/Central Clinton), Michelle Green (So., DeWitt, IA/Central Clinton) grabbed a second place finish in a time of 1:54.43. Kim Swartz (So., Tiffin, OH/Calvert) finished third in the mile (5:53.53)
Natalie Borland (Sr., Kent, OH/Roosevelt) placed fourth in the high jump (5-1), Holly Gospodinsky (Jr., Wadsworth,OH/HS) in the shot out and (36-3) and Mara Mysliwiec (Fr., Parma, OH/Padua) in the 400m (65.22).

"Track Does Well at Kenyon"
Walsh scored in every event, and notched six first place finishes at the Kenyon College Invitational on Friday night. The Cavs also set two school records.
Stephanie Foster (Fr., Lodi,OH/Cloverleaf) qualifed for nationals set a Walsh record in the pole vault (11'). She shattered Emma Heck's (Jr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) mark of 10'6 in 2008. Carley Adams (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) set a new mark in the 500m, with a first place finish in a time of 1:20.78.
Danielle Cofojohn (Sr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) won the shot, with a toss of 42'2.25, which meets "A" standard. Her earlier toss of 42'5.5 set a new Walsh record earlier in the season. Natalie Borland (Sr., Kent, OH/Roosevelt) finished first in the high jump (5'0"). The Cavs 4x200m relay team of Chelsea Megyes (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS), Michelle Green (So., DeWitt, IA/Central Clinton), Ruth Giles (Fr., Sandusky, OH/HS) , Allison Swarny (Fr., Bolivar, OH/Tusky Valley) won in a time of 1:55.97 and the Cavs 4x400m relay team of Sarah Martter (Fr., Peninsula, OH/Woodbridge), Carley Adams (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS), Molly Martin (Fr., Canfield, OH/HS) and Swarny won in a time of 4:12.41.

"Cavs Do Well at Edinboro, Foster Wins Pole Vault"
Walsh performed well at the non-scoring Al Hall Freedom Games at Edinboro University (PA) today. Stephanie Foster (Fr., Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) continued her outstanding freshman campaign with a first place finish in the pole vault (10-02.25). Foster also won last week at Case Western Reserve University.
Allie Simmons (So., Toledo Central Catholic) grabbed a second place finish in the long jump (4.95) and Carlie Ellison (Fr., Sandusky, OH/Perkins) scored first in the high jump (1.52). Simmons also earned a third place finish in the triple jump (9.30).
The Cavs 4x400m relay team of Carley Adams (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) Alyssa Akers (Fr., Twinsburg, OH/HS), Sarah Martter (Fr., Peninsula, OH/Woodbridge) and Allison Swarny (Fr., Bolivar, OH/Tusky Valley) finished second in a time of 4:16.44. Swarny also finished third in the 200m (27.46) and Adams third in the 400m (1:02.13). Sara Stone (Jr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) placed third in the weight throw (12.19) and Natalie Borland (Jr., Kent, OH/Roosevelt) third in the high jump (1.52).

"INDOOR TRACK: Foster and Cofojohn Win Events in Spartan Relays"
Stephanie Foster’s (Fr., Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) and Danielle Cofojohn’s (Sr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) first place finishes led Walsh in the 2010 Spartan Relays hosted by Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland this afternoon.
Foster finished in the top spot in the pole vault event with a height of 10-7.5 while Cofojohn out-threw her competition in the shot put with a distance of 42-05.5.
Lauren Ignazio (So., Austintown, OH/Ursuline), Allie Simmons (So., Toledo Central Catholic) and Catie Shears (So., Washington Court House) represented the Cavaliers well in the triple jump finishing second, third and fourth, respectively. Ignazio jumped a distance of 30-07.5, while Simmons jumped 29-08 and Shears leaped 29-05.25.
Sarah Martter (Fr., Peninsula, OH/Woodbridge) finished fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.53, as well as the long jump with a distance of 15-04.75. She also participated on the fourth-place 4x400 meter relay team with Mara Mysliwiec (Fr., Parma, OH/Padua), Denise Sahli (Sr., East Canton, OH/HS) and Allison Swarny (Fr., Bolivar, OH/Tusky Valley) with a time of 4:26.79.
Other top performers for Walsh included Swarny finishing fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.84, Kristin Havens (Jr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) finishing fourth in the mile run with a time of 5:42.89, Natalie Borland (Jr., Kent, OH/Kent Roosevelt) finishing fourth in the high jump with a height of 4-09.75, Kendrajo Wilson’s (Fr., Coshocton, OH/HS) fourth place finish in the pole vault with a distance of 8-08, and Sara Stone (Jr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) finishing fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 40-00.75.

"INDOOR TRACK: Cavs Fourth at Marietta Open, Cofojohn, Martter, Havens Notch First Place Finishes"
Walsh's women finished fourth at the Marietta Open, hosted by Marietta College, in their first meet of the indoor track season. The Cavs finished fourth with 106 points, just 11 behind third place Concord College. Roanoke University placed first with 150 points. COMPLETE RESULTS
Freshman Sarah Martter (Peninsula, OH/Woodbridge) finished first in the 500m dash (1:29.51) and fourth in the long jump (15-04.00). She was also part of Walsh's second place teams in the 4x200m and 4x400m relays. Kristen Havens (Jr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) finished first in the 1000m (3:22.6) and Danielle Cofojohn (Sr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) in the shot (41-02.25).
Stephanie Foster (Fr., Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) placed second in the pole vault (10-00.00). Martter and teammates Denise Sahli (Sr., East Canton, OH/HS), Alysaa Akers (Fr., Twinsburg, OH/HS) and Allison Swarny (Fr., Bolivar, OH/Tusky Valley) earned a second place finish in the 4x400m relay (4:34.04). Joining Martter on the Cavs second place 4x200m team (1:56.76) were Swarny, Ruth Giles (Fr., Sandusky,OH/HS) and Elizabeth Emanuel (So., Hubbard, OH/Ursuline). Swarny also finished fourth in the 200m (28.15). Natalie Borland (Jr., Kent, OH/Roosevelt) finished third in the high jump (4-09.00) and Holly Gosdpodinsky (Jr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) fourth in the shot (36-07.75).
