UPB:  Underground

What is the Underground?

The Underground is a group of volunteers who assist the University Programming Board with a variety of campus activities.  The Underground is a subdivision of the executive programming board but is equally important in the success of the events.

How do you become an Underground member?

One can become a member of the Underground by either attending the Student Activities Fair in the Fall Semester and signing up at the University Programming Board booth or by contacting the Vice President of the University Programming Board.

What is the status breakdown of Underground members?

Each Underground member will have equal opportunity to assist and attend events that the University Programming Board implements on campus.  However, one is not an "official" member until they assist with the setup or tear down of 1 (one) event and attend 1 (one) event within one month's time.

Maroon Status:  Maroon Status is the level of membership directly above "official" membership.  This level of membership can be achieved by being involved with 9 (nine) University Programming Board events.  The member must assist with 4 (four) events and attend 5 (five) events.  Once Maroon Status is achieved, the Underground member is eligible to receive a free t-shirt which the University Programming Board produces for each event past their status achievement.

Gold Status:  Gold Status is the level of membership directly of Maroon Status and is the highest level of membership on the Underground.  One achieves Gold Status by being involved with 12 (twelve) University Programming Board events.  The member must assist with 6 (six) events and attend 6 (six) events.  Included in their events, the member must assist with either Spring Formal or WalshFest to achieve Gold Status.  As a Gold Status member, the person will be eligible for the same perks of Maroon Status members.  However, as an added bonus, Gold Status members are eligible for a free Spring Formal ticket.
