The Walsh University Chorale will hold their annual Christmas Chorale Concert of Sacred Music on December 3 at 7 p.m. in the Cecchini Center's Alumni Arena. Directed by Dr. Britt Cooper, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Fine and Performing Arts at Walsh University, this event is free and open to the public.
The Walsh University Chorale is a large choir of over 70 voices. Musically, the ensemble embraces the spiritual heritage of choral singing while also performing secular works of the highest quality.
Dr. Cooper has a M.M. in Choral Conducting from the University of Alabama and a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of South Carolina. He directs three choral ensembles: the Walsh University Chorale, the Walsh Chamber Singers, and the Stark Community Chorus Sponsored by Walsh University. Through his career, Dr. Cooper has also directed collegiate choirs in Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and won Second Place in their National Graduate Conducting Competition in 2003.
