Walsh University has recently appointed Ted Swaldo to the Walsh University Board of Directors.
Ted Swaldo, an engineer turned entrepreneur whose interests now include real estate development, is the former President and CEO of ASC Industries in North Canton and most recently launched Canton's first winery, Gervasi Vineyard & Italian Bistro, on 55 beautiful acres in Canton.
Swaldo graduated from Tri-State College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1967 and was recognized by the college as an outstanding alum in 1987. He has extensive design engineering experience from the Timken Company Bearing Division. In 1969, Swaldo became engineering manager with Air Enterprises of Akron. He eventually sold off the electrical division and focused all of ASC's resources on the water pump business, which became the largest water-pump manufacturer in the world.
Swaldo's community involvement has included serving as Executive Director and volunteer of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps; member of the board of directors of Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps; chairman of the board for Drum Corps International; and he has held various offices with the North Canton Jaycees and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Committee. He was a member of the North Canton Jaycees and North Canton Rotary Club.
