Walsh University Appoints Athletic Business Manager

John Bartuseck Named to Position

Walsh University is pleased to announce the appointment of John Bartuseck as athletic business manager. In this position, Bartuseck will be responsible for directing the internal operational and financial activities of the Walsh University Athletic Department. In addition, he will prepare annual budgets; handle all requisitions for athletic administration and individual sports; prepare and submit all bid and purchase requests for athletic equipment and supplies; arrange transportation, meals and lodging for all athletic teams; and other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Athletics/Director of Athletics.

"We were fortunate to be able to attract and hire a person with John's background and expertise in the fields of accounting and athletic business management," said Vice President for Athletics/Athletic Director Dale Howard."I am looking forward to working with him to develop and enhance our athletic department financial policies as we transition into the NCAA."

Bartuseck has proven experience in managing financial transactions, audit preparation and compliance with NCAA guidelines and policies that will help Walsh University with the process of transitioning to the NCAA Division II level. He joins Walsh University from the Canton City School District where he was a vocational business education teacher from 2000-2011. Prior to Canton City Schools, his professional accomplishments include a solid background in real estate and medical equipment sales and related experience as the assistant athletic director for finance and assistant director of athletic development and sports services for Kent State University's Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from 1986 to 1992.
