Walsh University has announced the promotion of Rachel Hosler from Associate Director of Residence Life to Director of Global Learning.
Hosler brings a wealth of Walsh experience to Global Learning. She is a 2004 graduate of Walsh University with her Bachelor's Degree in Education and earned her M.A. in Counseling & Human Development in 2009. She rejoined the Walsh community in the summer of 2006 after working for the Jefferson County School District in Louisville, Kentucky. In her previous position as Associate Director of Residence Life, Hosler oversaw all aspects of the Resident Assistant staff, Freshman Housing Placements, and the Upperclassman Housing Sign-up Process. Most recently, Hosler was honored as the 2012 Terrance Portis Mentor of the Year. This recipient is nominated each year by the senior class for their outstanding guidance, education outside the classroom and significant contributions to the college experience.
Her responsibilities in Global Learning include supervision of Walsh's programs in Rome, Uganda, and Tanzania. She will work closely with students and faculty in the planning and execution of Walsh's ever growing Global Learning opportunities.
"Rachel's promotion from Residence Life to Global Learning, which is within Academic Affairs, is indicative of Walsh's strong commitment to educating the 'whole person'," explained Dr. Douglas Palmer, Executive Director of Global Learning. "Global Learning is both academic and residential and we know that when these work together, it is a powerful tool for learning. We are very fortunate to have someone with her experience join our team."
